Troubleshoot issues related to making and receiving calls on your BlackBerry Curve 9310

This article helps troubleshoot making or receiving calls on your BlackBerry Curve 9310.

You may have issues with calls if you have:

  • A low signal strength
  • Trouble making or receiving calls
  • Frequently dropped calls

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Verify mobile network is turned on.

    1. From the home screen, scroll to the All tray, and press the trackpad.
    2. Scroll to Manage Connections, and press the trackpad.
    3. Ensure that Mobile Network is checked.

  2. Update the PRL.

    1. From the home screen, scroll to the All tray, and press the trackpad.
    2. Scroll to Manage Connections, and press the trackpad.
    3. Scroll to Networks and Connections, and press the trackpad.
    4. Scroll to Mobile Network, and press the trackpad.
    5. Press the Menu key.
    6. Scroll to Update PRL, press the trackpad, and wait while it updates.
    7. With OK highlighted, press the trackpad.
  3. Verify if coverage is available at your current location.

If your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9310 has low signal strength, see if your location is within Boost Mobile voice coverage on the Boost Mobile coverage map.

  4. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset reconnects your BlackBerry Curve 9310 to the Boost Mobile network.

    1. Turn your phone off.
    2. Remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    3. Turn your phone back on.

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure your BlackBerry Curve 9310 is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
