Troubleshoot when your alcatel Dawn doesn't turn on

This article helps troubleshoot your alcatel Dawn not turning on

You may have this issue if your alcatel Dawn™:

  • Doesn't turn on
  • Starts to turn on but restarts or shuts down before it turns on completely

Try each of these steps if your phone doesn't turn on.

  1. Verify that your alcatel Dawn has a sufficient charge.

    1. Connect your original charger to your phone.
    2. After a few minutes, try to turn on your phone.
  2. Verify that your phone, charging port, and battery contacts are not damaged.

    1. Carefully inspect your phone to be sure it's not overheating, swollen or damaged.
    2. Carefully inspect your phone's charging port and remove any debris.
    3. Remove the battery.
    4. Carefully inspect and clean the gold contacts using a cotton swab or dry soft cloth.

  3. Verify that you are using a compatible charger.

  4. Verify that your alcatel Dawn can power on.

    1. Press and hold the Power key.
      • If your alcatel Dawn does not turn on, please contact Customer Care.
  5. If your alcatel Dawn does turn on, verify that it is running the most recent software.

    1. In Boost Zone (Boost) or My Account (Virgin Mobile), swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    2. Tap System Updates.
    3. Tap Device Software.
    4. Tap CHECK FOR UPDATE.
    5. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.
