Troubleshoot issues related to email on your LG Marquee

This article helps troubleshoot email issues on your LG Marquee.

You may have email issues if you're unable to:

  • Send emails
  • Receive emails

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Verify mobile data is enabled.

    1. From the home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Wireless & networks.
    4. Tap Mobile networks.
    5. Tap to check Data enabled.
  2. Update the data profile.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap About phone.
    4. Scroll to and tap System updates.
    5. Tap Update profile and wait until it completes.
    6. Tap OK.

If your LG Marquee™ still can't connect to data, troubleshoot data connectivity.

  3. Verify that the email address and password are correct.

On your LG Marquee web browser, navigate to your email provider's website and try to sign in to your email account.

If you're unable to sign in, double-check that you entered the correct username and password.

If you recently updated your email account password, you also have to update the email settings on your LG Marquee.

  4. Double-check that you have set up your email account correctly on your LG Marquee.

Be sure that you've entered the exact settings for each email account you want to access. The instructions are different depending on the type of email account you're trying to set up.

    • For a personal email address:

This is the most common scenario and includes all major public email providers such as Yahoo!®, Hotmail®, Gmail™, and AOL®.

      1. If you've already set up the email address on your LG Marquee, try removing it from your phone to delete any incorrect settings.
      2. Removing your email account doesn't delete any of your emails, it only removes the link to your account for now. Remove an email account.

      3. Add your email account to your LG Marquee.
    • For a business email address via Microsoft Exchange™:

Boost Mobile recommends that you contact your IT department for the correct setup information. You'll need your server address, domain, username, and your corporate password.

      1. From the home screen, tap Email.
      2. Enter your Email address and Password, then tap Next.
      3. If your email settings are found:
        1. Modify the account options as you prefer, then tap Next.
        2. Enter your name, then tap Done.
      4. If your email settings are not found:
        1. Tap Exchange.
        2. Tap Edit details.
        3. Confirm that the Domain/username, Password, and Exchange server are correct.
        4. Tap to check the SSL options if necessary.
        5. Tap Next.
        6. Modify the account options as you prefer, then tap Next.
        7. Enter your name, then tap Done.

If your Exchange account still doesn't work, contact your corporate IT department for more help.

  5. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset reconnects your LG Marquee to the Boost Mobile network.

    1. Turn your phone off.
    2. Remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    3. Turn your phone back on.

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure your LG Marquee is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
