Conserve Battery Life
  1. If the handset is experiencing a short battery life, disabling some features and modifying settings may help.

    Reducing the backlight brightness and backlight timeout can improve battery life

    From the home screen, tap and drag the Notification bar down.

  2. Tap the Settings icon.

  3. Tap Display.

  4. Tap Brightness.

  5. Tap to check or uncheck Automatic brightness.

    Tap and drag the slider to the lowest comfortable brightness level.

    When finished, tap OK

  6. Tap Screen timeout.

  7. Tap the lowest comfortable timeout setting.

  8. Tap the Back key to return to the Settings menu.

  9. Using a live wallpaper can drain the battery faster.

    From the Settings menu, tap Home screen.

  10. Tap Wallpaper.

  11. Tap Wallpaper gallery.

    Note: Do not tap Live wallpapers.

  12. Scroll to a wallpaper image and tap Set wallpaper.

  13. Tap the Back key to return to the Settings menu.

  14. When available, connecting to Wi-Fi can help extend battery life up to 50%. Wi-Fi is a faster, lower power connection that also allows phone calls to be placed while browsing the internet.

    Leaving Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS on when not actively in use can drain the battery faster.

    From the Settings menu, tap and drag down the Notification bar.

  15. On the Quick Settings menu, swipe over and tap to turn Wi-FiBluetooth, and Location on or off as needed.

    When finished, swipe up to close the notification shade.

  16. Tap Share & connect.

  17. Tap to disable NFC and Android Beam when not in use, then tap the Back key.

  18. Tap More.

  19. Tap Mobile networks.

  20. Tap Connections optimizer.

  21. Ensure Connections Optimizer is checked.

    When finished, tap the Back key three times.

  22. Scroll to and tap Apps.

  23. Swipe to the RUNNING tab, then scroll to and tap a running application.

  24. Tap Stop to close the application.

    When finished, tap the Home key.

  25. Setting the handset to download or sync less information or less often can improve battery life.

    From the home screen, tap and drag the Notification bar down.

  26. Tap the Settings icon.

  27. Scroll to and tap Accounts & sync.

  28. Tap the account type.

  29. Tap the account.

  30. Tap to check or uncheck synchronization options.

    Once finished, tap the Back icon three times.

  31. Turning off notification vibration can improve battery life.

    From the Settings menu, scroll to and tap Sound.

  32. To turn vibrate off in silent mode, tap Sound profile.

  33. Ensure either Sound or Do not disturb is selected. 

  34. To turn vibrate off for ringtones and notifications, tap to uncheck Sound with vibration.

  35. Tap to check or uncheck Vibrate on tap, then tap the Back key.

    Note: Disabling this option will improve battery life.

  36. From the Settings menu, scroll to and tap Battery.

  37. Tap Battery saver to adjust power conservation settings.

  38. Adjust the Battery saver options, then tap the slider to ON.

    When finished, tap the Home key.

  39. Charging the handset on a regular basis will maximize the battery life.

    The charger/connectivity port is located on the bottom of the handset.

    Plug the charger into the power socket and then connect it to the handset.

  40. The handset is now configured to conserve battery life.
