Show Me How

Initial Sign In and First Use
  1. To view and enable the device accessibility options, tap Accessibility settings.

    When finished, tap Next.

    Note: If prompted to Allow Google to regularly check device activity, tap the preferred option.

    If prompted with a Connections Optimizer message, tap I Agree.

  2. Tap to select the preferred device language, then tap Next.

  3. To connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap the network name, enter the password if required, and tap CONNECT.

    When finished, or to continue without connecting to a Wi-Fi network, tap Next.

    Note: If the device was reset with Device Protection enabled, a Wi-Fi connection will be required to continue and complete the Google account authentication.

  4. Read the warning message and tap SKIP ANYWAY.

  5. The Hands Free Activation process will begin automatically.

    Once the Hands Free Activation is complete, tap OK.

  6. The device will update the PRL.

    Once the update is complete, tap OK.

    The device will restart.

  7. Tap Next to continue.

  8. A Google account is required to access a variety of Google services or to purchase and download content from the Play Store.

    To create a new Google account, tap Or create a new account.

    To log in to an existing Google account, enter the email address, then tap NEXT.

    Note: To skip this step, tap SKIP, then tap SKIP ANYWAY to confirm.

    Adding a Google account will automatically enable Device Protection. Device Protection uses your Google account to prevent others from activating your device if it's ever lost or stolen.

    If a reset was performed and Device Protection was set up, entering the Google account credentials and Accepting the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy will be required.

  9. Enter the account Password, then tap NEXT.

  10. Read the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then tap ACCEPT to continue.

  11. If available, tap the preferred backup from Restore from this backup, tap NEXT, and follow the prompts.

    To skip this step, ensure Set up as new device is selected, then tap NEXT.

  12. To protect your phone's data, tap SET SCREEN LOCK NOW and follow the prompts to set up a Pattern, PIN or Password.

    Otherwise, tap SKIP.

    Note: You will be required to enter your Screen lock Pattern, PIN or Password prior to starting a factory reset of the device.

  13. Read the warning message and tap SKIP ANYWAY.

  14. Read the Google services message and tap to select the preferred options.

    When finished, tap NEXT.

  15. Read the LG EULA.

    To continue, tap to check I agree, then tap Next.

  16. Tap DONE.

  17. The phone will update the Firmware. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.

    Otherwise, tap OK.

  18. Tap OK once the Boost ID installation is complete.

    Note: If prompted to Allow Google to regularly check device activity, tap the preferred option.

    If Smart Contacts prompts, swipe left through the welcome messages, then tap I don't want to use this. Tap YES, DISABLE,and then tap OK.

  19. The device is now set up and ready for use.

    Note: If prompted with a Connections Optimizer message, tap I Agree.
