  1. Adjust your phone settings to conserve battery.

  2. Close or uninstall applications.

    • Also, some apps consume more energy than others.
    • Some apps come pre-loaded on your phone and you can't uninstall them.
    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Applications.
    4. Tap Application manager.
    5. Tap the application.
      • Close (turn off) an application: Tap FORCE STOP.
      • Uninstall (remove from phone) an application: Tap UNINSTALL and tap UNINSTALL to confirm.
  3. Verify that your Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is running the most recent software.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap System Update.
    4. Tap Update now.
      • If an update is available, follow the prompts to install.
  4. Safely remove your SD card.

    1. From the home screen, tap the Apps.
    2. Swipe to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Storage.
    4. Scroll to and tap Unmount SD card.
    5. Tap OK.
    6. Remove the battery cover.
    7. Remove the SD card.
    8. Replace the battery cover.
  5. Perform a soft reset.

    A soft reset restarts your phone and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Leave your phone powered on.
    2. Remove the battery. After 10 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    3. Turn your phone back on.
  6. Verify that your charger is working properly.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Battery.
    4. Verify that the battery status is Charging.
