Troubleshoot charging issues on your ZTE Tempo

You may have charging issues if your ZTE Tempo

  • Doesn't charge
  • Charges slowly

Try each of these steps if your phone has charging issues.

  1. Verify that your phone, charging port are not damaged.

    1. Carefully inspect your phone to be sure it's not overheating, swollen or damaged.
    2. Carefully inspect your phone's charging port and remove any debris.

    Caution: If your phone is damaged, do not complete the remaining steps in this guide. please select your provider to contact Customer Care:

  2. Verify that your ZTE Tempo can power on.

    1. Turn your phone on.
      • If your ZTE Tempo does not turn on, please contact Customer Care.
  3. Verify that your charger is working properly.

    Note: You risk severe damage to your phone if the charger isn't the same voltage, amps, and plug type as your original charger. You can purchase compatible chargers on www.Boostmobile.com or VirginMobileUSA.com.

    1. Connect your phone to your charger.
    2. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    3. Scroll to and tap Boost Zone (Boost) or My Account (Virgin Mobile).
    4. Swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    5. Tap Battery Status.
    6. Verify that the Status is Charging.
  4. Verify that your ZTE Tempo is running the most recent software.

    1. In Boost Zone (Boost) or My Account (Virgin Mobile), swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    2. Tap System Updates.
    3. Tap Device Software.
    4. Tap CHECK FOR UPDATE.
      • If an update is available, follow the prompts to install.
  5. Safely remove your SD card.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Storage.
    4. Tap the Eject icon next to the SD card name in the Portable storage section.
    5. Remove the back cover.
    6. Remove the SD card.
    7. Replace the cover.
  6. Perform a soft reset.

    A soft reset restarts your phone and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Press and hold the Power key until the phone turns off.
    2. The phone will turn on automatically.
