Conserve Battery Life
  1. If the handset is experiencing a short battery life, disabling some features and modifying settings may help.

    Reducing backlight brightness and backlight timeout can improve battery life.

    From the home screen, tap the Menu key.

  2. Tap System settings.

  3. Tap Display.

  4. Tap Brightness.

  5. Tap to check or uncheck Automatic brightness as desired.

    If Automatic brightness is unchecked, tap and drag the slider to the lowest comfortable brightness level.

    Once finished, tap OK.

  6. Tap Sleep.

  7. Tap the lowest comfortable timeout setting.

    Once finished, tap the Home key.

  8. Using a live wallpaper can drain the battery faster.

    From the home screen, tap the Menu key.

  9. Tap Wallpaper.

  10. Tap the desired Wallpapers option.

    Note: Do not tap Live Wallpapers.

  11. Scroll to the desired wallpaper and tap Set wallpaper.

  12. Leaving Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on while not in use can drain the battery faster.

    To disable these features, return to the System settings menu.

  13. Tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth slider to OFF if they are not actively in use.

  14. Leaving GPS on when not in use can drain the battery faster.

    To disable GPS, from the System settings menu, tap Location services.

  15. Tap to uncheck Use GPS satellites.

    Tap the Back key when finished.

    Note: If Use wireless networks is checked, the handset can use the network to show your approximate location for applications such as Google Maps.

  16. Stopping unused running services and applications can help conserve battery life.

    From the System settings menu, tap Apps.

    Note: Stopping unused services is an advanced battery conservation step. There may be undesirable side effects from stopping certain services.

  17. Tap the RUNNING tab.

  18. Tap the desired service or application.

  19. Tap Stop, and then confirm the prompt by tapping OK.

    Tap the Back key when finished.

    Note: If the option to stop is not present, the service can not be stopped.

  20. Turning off vibrate notifications can improve battery life. 

    From the System settings menu, tap Sound.

  21. Tap to uncheck Vibrate and ring if currently checked.

    Note: If the device is currently in Silent mode, then all other Vibrate options will not be selectable. If so, tap Silent mode and then tap Off to disable it.

  22. Scroll to and tap to uncheck Vibrate on touch if it is currently checked.

    Tap the Back key.

  23. Setting the handset to download or sync less information or less often can improve battery life.

    From the System setttings screen, tap Accounts & sync.

  24. Tap the desired account.

    Note: To disable all account syncing, tap the Accounts & sync slider to OFF.

  25. Tap to check or uncheck the DATA & SYNCRONIZATION items as desired.

    Tap the Home key when finished.

  26. Charging the handset on a regular basis will maximize the battery life.

    The Charger/Connector port is located on the bottom of the handset.

    Plug the charger into the power socket and then connect it to the handset.

  27. The handset is now configured to conserve battery life.
