Show Me How

Initial Sign In and First Use
  1. To view and enable the device accessibility options, tap Accessibility settings.

    When finished, tap Next.

    Note: If a Boost Mobile ID message appears, wait for it to complete. It may take several minutes.

    If prompted to Allow Google to regularly check device activity, tap the preferred option.

  2. Tap to select the preferred device language, then tap Next.

  3. To connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap the network name, enter the password if required, and tap CONNECT.

    When finished, or to continue without connecting to a Wi-Fi network, tap Next.

    Note: If prompted, tap SKIP ANYWAY.

    If the device was reset with Device Protection enabled, a Wi-Fi connection will be required to continue and complete the Google account authentication.

  4. If prompted, tap OK when the Hands Free Activation and the PRL update are complete.

    The device will restart.

    Once the device restarts, tap Next.

  5. To copy your data and information from another device, tap Copy your Google Accounts, apps, and data from your other device, and follow the steps.

    To skip, tap to select No thanks, then tap NEXT.

  6. A Google account is required to access a variety of Google services or to purchase and download content from the Play Store.

    To create a new Google account, tap Or create a new account and follow the steps.

    To log in to an existing Google account, enter the email address, then tap NEXT.

    Note: If a reset was performed with Device Protection enabled, the Google account credentials will be required to continue.

  7. Enter the account Password, then tap NEXT.

    Note: Adding a Google account will automatically enable Device Protection. Device Protection uses your Google account to prevent others from activating your device if it's ever lost or stolen.

  8. Read the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then tap ACCEPT to continue.

  9. Read the Google services message and tap to select the preferred options.

    When finished, tap NEXT.

  10. To add a different email account, tap to select Personal (IMAP/POP), then follow the prompts.

    Otherwise, tap to select Not now, then tap NEXT.

  11. To protect your phone's data, tap to check Protect this device, tap NEXT, then follow the prompts to set up a Knock Code, PIN, Pattern or Password.

    To skip this for now, tap to uncheck Protect this device, then tap SKIP.

    Note: If prompted, read the warning and tap SKIP ANYWAYS to confirm.

    If configured, you will be required to enter your Screen lock type prior to starting a factory reset of the device.

  12. To restore data from a previous device backup, tap the preferred backup from the device list, then follow the prompts.

    To continue without restoring a previous backup, scroll to and tap Don't restore.

  13. Read the LG EULA.

    To continue, tap to check I agree, then tap Done.

  14. Tap DONE.

  15. The device is now set up and ready for use.

    Note: The device may check for Firmware updates. If an update is available, follow the prompts to download and install the update. Otherwise, tap OK.

    If prompted, tap the preferred option for Home update.
