Conserve Battery Life
  1. If the device is experiencing a short battery life, disabling some features and modifying certain settings may help.

    Reducing backlight brightness and backlight timeout can improve battery life.

    From the home screen, use two fingers to swipe down the Status bar.

  2. Tap the Settings icon.

  3. Tap Display.

  4. Tap Brightness level.

  5. Tap and drag the slider to the lowest comfortable brightness level, then tap the Back key.

  6. Tap Sleep.

  7. Tap the shortest comfortable timeout setting.

  8. Using a live wallpaper can drain the battery faster.

    Tap Wallpaper.

  9. Tap a wallpaper source.

    Note: Do not select Live Wallpapers.

  10. Scroll to and tap a wallpaper, then tap Set wallpaper.

  11. Leaving certain network connections active while not in use can drain the battery faster.

    To disable these features, use two fingers to swipe down the Status bar.

  12. Wi-Fi is a lower power connection can extend battery life by as much as 50%. Make sure you are connected Wi-Fi whenever available.

    However, other wirelesss networks will use more power.

    Tap to disable Bluetooth and Location when not in use.

    Once finished, tap the home key.

    Note: If only one finger was used to swipe down the Status bar, swipe down again to access the Quick Settings menu.

  13. Some applications can use power while running in the background.

    Tap the Recent Apps key.

  14. Close any unneeded applications by swiping them to the side, or taping the Close icon.

    When finished, tap the Home key.

    Note: Most apps do not use extra power while running in the background, and some apps may not function correctly if closed.

  15. Turning off vibrations can improve battery life.

    From the home screen, use two fingers to swipe down the Status bar.

  16. Tap the Settings icon.

  17. Scroll to and tap Sound.

  18. Ensure Also vibrate for calls is disabled, then scroll to and tap Other sounds.

  19. If needed, tap to disable Vibrate on touch.

    Once finished, tap the Back key twice to return to Settings.

  20. Setting the device to sync less information can improve battery life.

    From the Settings menu, scroll to and tap Accounts.

  21. Tap the account type.

  22. Tap to disable all unneeded sync items.

    Repeat as needed for all accounts.

    When finished, tap the Back key twice to return to Settings.

    Note: If prompted, tap to select the account name.

  23. Your device has a battery saving mode that will switch the device into a low power mode when needed.

    From the Settings menu, scroll to and tap Battery.

  24. Tap the Menu icon.

  25. Tap Battery saver.

  26. Tap Turn on automatically.

  27. Tap the battery percentage at which Battery saver will automatically turn on.

  28. Battery saver is now configured.

    Tap the Home key.

  29. Charging the device on a regular basis will maximize the battery life.

    The Charger/Connector port is located on the bottom side of the device.

    Plug the charger into the power socket and then connect it to the device.

  30. The device is now configured to conserve battery life.
